Angels at your fingertips!

Hello friends

I had a lovely weekend celebrating my 18th wedding anniversary with my husband Ste on Sunday 27th July gosh the year's seem to fly by.

I have a special post for you today one that is close to my heart,Do you believe in angels? I sure do! and today's manicure is all about angels!

I was inspired to re-create these angels and was given permission to do so by a lovely lady called Alison Knox whom I met a few years back in the Mind Body& Soul festival in Manchester.
Alison is an amazing talented artist who created these beautiful angelic pieces of artwork.
Here is my water colour angel Alison kindly gave to me at the festival.

In Alison's own words..The angels speak for themselves through my paintings. They touch the soul at a deeply profound level and are “experienced” rather than simply “seen”. Of course, the visual images are beautiful, breathtaking even, but the true impact of their presence is felt once a relationship has been established.
The angels have many gifts to deliver, it is not for me to know or reveal what those are. There exists a precious bond between angel and human where such things are shared, when the moment is perfect.
Often I am asked “What will the angels do for me then?” The truthful answer is “ I don’t know”. . . that is between you and your angel.

You can check out Alison's web site “EVeRYDaY ANGeLS by clicking HERE

I have tried my best to re-create some of Alison's beautiful angel paintings but I must say it was very difficult to miniature them on such a small scale and I thought I would challenge myself by using nail polishes instead of Watercolours or Acrylic paints.
Here is a picture of all the colours/polishes and items I used to create my angels at my fingertips!

Here is Alison's Angel paintings I chosen to re-create.

From left to right 10. Golden Hope 26. Divine Rainbow 28. The Infinite Gateway (2 angel paintings are from the various collection on Alison's web site)

I loved re-creating these beautiful angels on my nails! the angelic energy while I was painting them was very soothing and calm and healing.
I hope you enjoyed looking at my nailart today and please do take a look at Alison's wonderful artwork on her website “EVeRYDaY ANGeLS you will be amazed by her talent!

A huge thanks to Alison again for giving me permission to re-create her angel artwork on my nails.

Love and Angel hugs

#HePicksMyPolish Nail Art Challenge

Hi friends

I hope you all well and enjoying the warm weather.

I have another nail art challenge for you today one I haven't done for a little while but glad I can join in this one!
It is the #HePicksMyPolish Nail Art Challenge hosted by my lovely friend Alessandra, also nicknamed "The Sparkle Queen".

That explains above how it all works so now I will get on with my nails.
The polishes my hubby picked for me to use are as follows...

  • Beautyuk polish in Pink Lemonade.
  • NYC Clear top coat.
  • Sinful Colors in Snow me White.(for the windows on buildings)
  • Benecos polish in Sparkles.(dark blue)
  • Benecos polish in My Secret.
  • Dotting tool.
  • Make-up sponge.
  • Maker pen in black.

I decided to do something a little different with the polishes my hubby picked (I added the white polish for the windows )
I thought I would do the city where I was born and I live in The Liverpool skyline at dusk.

I started with a base coat using the Beautyuk polish I gave this 2 coats. then once dry I took the 2 benecos polishes and then painted 2 strips on to the make up sponge,I dabbed the sponge on to each nail and I repeated this step about 3 times then I blended it while tacky using the clear polish.
I then drawn some of the water front landmark buildings using the marker pen and dotted some windows using the white polish.  gave the nails a top coat and all done :-)

Hope you enjoyed my nail art of the Liverpool skyline.
Thanks for reading and if you haven't followed me yet I would love you to, and please check out the wonderful manis below!Have a wonderful Day!

My new Holographic Helmer!

Hello friends

I recently took a visit to Ikea and bought myself a Helmer for all my lil pretty polishes.

Now I know they can come in a few colours so I chosen the White and thought I would copy what some other nail bloggers are doing with there Helmers by using self adhesive plastic to cover it.
I took another trip in to town to Wilkos and bought 2 rolls of  Holograph Deco Self-Adhesive Film Silver Effect at £5 each.

While I was trying to un pack the helmer I had a little inspection from my 2 cats to make sure everything was there and in order :D

I will say that it takes time and sometimes 2 people to stick the film over the helmer pieces, I found doing this before you build the helmer much easier.
I covered the 2 sides the top and the front/drawers and I had a little piece left over but you do need the 2 rolls.
I also found using some PVA glue helps to stick it down on corners etc where the sticky back isn't sticky enough helps.
I also bought some decorating crystals in Blue and Pink and glued them onto the top edge of my helmer.

Here is my finished result!
I absolutely love it! what do you think? do you like it too?
Let me know if you have done the same or re vamped your helmer somehow I would love to see.
More posts coming up!
Don't forget to follow me if you haven't already thank you.
Thanks for stopping by.

Batiste Cherry inspired nails

Hi Friends

I hope you all well.just a quick post today.
I have a Dry shampoo Batiste Cherry can inspired nail art today.
I liked the pattern so I thought I would give this a quick try.

The items I used as follows.
  • Saffron polish in Pastel green.
  • Sinful Colors polish in Crossing heart.
  • NYC polish in Pinstripe White.
  • Jess polish in All that jazz.
  • Nail art pens in dark and metallic green.
  • Barry M base and top coat.

I started with the Saffron polish as a base colour.
I then used a large dotting tool and done some darker red dots using the Jess polish and when dry I went over the dots with the red polish as the cherrys on all the nails.
Waited for them to dry again and took a small dotting tool and used the NYC white to give the small shine on each cherry.
I used the nail art pens for the stems and leaves gave it all a top coat and all done.

Hope you liked my cherry nails!
I will have more posts coming up soon!

My thoughts
I wish I had more of this eye product to give more of a fuller review! the sample size gave me enough to trial 2 applications and the results I could tell almost straight away that it improved the dark circles and puffiness I was experiencing. I used this during the evening before bed and the formula was gentle around my eye area and I felt no stinginess or irritation.
What a fantastic product for the eyes!

My Thoughts
I absolutely love this product!
I thought it would be good for my scar above my lip were I had a mole removed a few years ago.
The scar has faded after a few weeks of using this balm morning and sometimes at night with this wonderful little miracle in a tube!
I find the balm is thick but most balm/creams are to give that added barrier.I noticed the balm did not have much of a smell really just reminded me of the smell of Vaseline a little.
The balm I used also on my stretch marks across my stomach area and found they are fading!
I used the balm also on my cuticles which sometimes I must admit I tend to either pick or push up to much and they get sore so this balm has really helped with the soreness and also the overall improvement of my cuticles.
I also was suffering with dry skin on my feet and heels so I gave the balm a try on the rough areas of my feet and oh my gosh my feet have never felt so soft and smooth!
This is such a marvelous product and I find it even better than the popular Bio-oil that people use for stretch marks and such.having used that product in the past also I did find it helped the fading of my stretch marks but the iS Clinical Sheald Recovery Balm is doing much more for my skin and scar and actually improving the look and feel of my skin!
This is by far the best balm skin product I have ever used and I think it is worth every penny!

A huge thank you again to karen for sending me these fabulous items to review!

Betty lou manizer nail art

Hey friends
it is almost the weekend! this week has flown by for me.
I was looking through my make-up collection the other day sorting it out and thought oooh I am gonna do a nail art based on the betty lou manizer bronzer by the balm.

The items I used to create this nail are pictured and listed below.

  • Saffron polish in Cream (no name)
  • LA Colors polish glitter in Gold Nugget.
  • Ciate polish in Kiss Chase.
  • Sinful Colors glitter polish in Pinky Glitter.
  • Etude House ice-cream polish in Chocolate.
  • Wet n Wild strengthening polish glitter topper (no name).
  • Acrylic paints.
  • betty lou manizer bronzer by the balm cosmetics.

I started with the thumb base using the Saffron polish in cream then I hand painted the betty lou manizer face onto the thumb nail using Acrylic paints.
I then used the Ciate polish on the fingers except the middle finger I used the ice-cream chocolate for that finger and went over it with the LA Colours polish to make it look like the bronzer.
gave it all a top coat and all done :)

Thanks for stopping by I hope you liked my nail art!
More posts shortly. Have a wonderful Day!
