blogger swap Q&A post

Hello friends

I hope you all well.
I have a fun type of post for you today!
I am going to introduce you to another fabulous blogger by doing a blogger swap Q&A post.
Her name is Jess and I would love for you all to take a look at her links below and give her a follow.

Hi Dawn thanks for having me on your blog! I'm Jess, I'm 30 years old and I live in Australia but lets get onto the questions shall we?
Jess

What is the blog focus
my blog focus is make up and lifestyle, but I'm also branching out into shopping/fashion and hauls and animal posts.

What made you start blogging?
I was admiring blogs, and was bored one day and basically thought I could do that, I also thought there was a lack of drug store blogs because a lot of people were showing high end make up rather than just drug store. So that's what I primarily show.

What keeps you blogging
My creativity, my reading of other blogs, and the purchasing of make up basically, what else am I going to do with the make up? it needs more uses heehee.

What other blogs are inspirational to you?
berrixbeauty

tatjanag
ellesees
thesundaygirl

here are a couple of fave products the Fresh and flawless foundation powder by Australis

and W7 London eyes pallet

What advice would you give to someone starting a blog
only do it if you have the time and know what its about
do it for fun, know what you want to write about, find your purpose.
I'm endevouring on a vlog channel on youtube! the link is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1DsWt4I7l8
and about my blog, maybemayhemmakeup I think that people needing to save money or being thrifty need not be afraid to look at different alternatives for shopping! thrift stores are great and popular! I'm addicted so much so I work at one!

I hope you enjoyed reading this post!
Thanks for stopping by more festive posts coming up shortly.

rudolph & Snowman festive nailart

Hello friends

bbbrrrr it sure is getting chilly out there I hope you all keeping warm and well.
I have my Christmas decorations all done and the tree up it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

I have 2 easy and simple fun festive cute nailart manis for you today the famous rudolph the red nose reindeer and a cute snowman!

First off is the snowman mani.

  • Maybelline nail art pens in Black. Red. Turquoise.
  • CK glitter polish in Hallucination.
  • Sinful Colors polish in Snow me white.
  • Make-up revolution polishes in Luxury Cream.and Find true love.
  • Barry M paint in Ruby Slippers.
  • Dotting tool.

I started with a base coat and 2 coats of the Luxury cream polish on all nails apart from the middle finger which I gave that nail 2 coats of the Find true love(light blue shade)
I then used the dotting tool to create a simple snowman shape on the thumb nail using the white polish and dotting some snow around.
I used the nailart pen in red on the ring finger to make the candy stripes and then once dry I went over it carefully using the dotting tool with the Barry M glitter.
On the pointer and little finger I gave 2 coats of the CK glitter.
Back to the thumb nail I used the nailart pens to finish the snowman and a little orange acrylic for the carrot nose.
The middle finger I used the white again to create a snowflake went over it slightly with the CK glitter.
gave them a glossy top coat.and all done.

Next up is Rudolph!

  • Sinful Colors polish in Snow me white.
  • Sally Hansen polish in Crystal Beading.
  • BeautyUK Ultra gloss top coat.
  • Barry M paint in Ruby slippers.
  • Catrice polish in Marilyn & me.
  • Revlon polish in Hot Chocolate.
  • Laval polish in Pastel Blue.
  • Etude house ice-cream polish in Chocolate.
  • Rhinestones.
  • Dotting tool.
  • small nailart brush.

I started with 2 coats of the Pastel blue on each nail.
Then I used the Sally Hansen polish over the nails then the nailart brush and the white polish to create the snowflakes on each nail.
I took some nail Rhinestones while polish was tacky and stuck them on the snowflakes.
The middle finger I used the nailart brush again using the Hot chocolate polish for Rudolph's face and Antlers then the light brown/chocolate polish for the mouth area and ears.
Using the dotting tool I used the white for the eyes and also for the nose to make the red stand out more.
I then used a small bit of black for the eyes and went over his nose using the Catrice polish and then the Barry M polish.
Gave them a top coat and it is done.

Click n Curl review

Hello friends

Sorry it's been ages since I last blogged I have been so busy lately and also unwell again but I am feeling much better and I am getting ready for the festive season so more Christmas/festive nail art to come and more reviews!

Hair & Whiskers kindly sent a great hair product called the Click n Curl full set to review recently and I jumped at the chance to give this a try!

Hair & Whiskers is a new UK based company and website specialising in the launch, sale and distribution of hair and beauty products to both men and women in the UK.

Click n Curl is the detachable round brush styling tool that allows you to achieve a salon quality blow-out at home. It’s easy to use as a conventional round brush and produces results consistent with today’s hottest hairstyle trends – body, volume and loose flowing curls. Unlike other tools that require you to dry before styling, Click n Curl allows you to dry and style all in one step. With Click n Curl, you can achieve the look you need by the time your hair is dry and cool.

3 Brush Sizes:
Large - 3 inches in diameter; best for hair at least 7 inches in length
Medium - 2 inches in diameter; best for hair at least 5.5 inches in length
Small - 1.5 inches in diameter; best for hair at least 4 inches in length
Set Includes: 6 brush barrels and one universal handle
Heat Element: Personal hair dryer – NOT included

I am in no way a hair dresser/stylist but the Click n Curl  makes styling your hair easy to do!
I received my  Click n Curl  set in a lovely black box it was packaged very well and inside the box was 3 smaller boxes containing the  Click n Curl roller set.
The quality of the brush heads was excellent and the brush handle was easy to use and click.
The nylon bristles are stiff enough to create tension when styling, soft enough to avoid tangles and long enough to hold rollers in place without clips.

I used the red brush first, this is the smallest size. I use this to create smaller curls at the nape of my neck. I put the brush under my hair and curled it under. I then wrapped my hair all the way under the brush until I reached the top, I then put full heat on the brush to set it in place and then clicked the brush handle out of my hair leaving the brush set in my hair ( like a roller )

I then carried on using the red brushes until the bottom section of my hair was finished. Then I move onto the middle section of my hair which I used the purple brush heads, this is a medium size that creates less of tight curls and more looser. I wrapped the hair around the brush, making sure I curl under and then set them in place and click the brush handle out.
When I got to the top section of my hair, I use the blue brush heads, this is the biggest to create volume and loose waves. I curled under but instead of curling my hair I flicked it under.

This is the end result! loose flicks curls  I love how easy it is to use the Click n Curl set I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to curl there hair and save money on salon visits!
