Hello everyone
I hope you all well and good.I was so pleased to have recently been asked by the lovely Tara at The TaraEmporium! to review some of her Handmade polishes!
I have never worked with any indie brand polish makers before so I was really excited to try Tara's polishes and I was so happy when my polishes arrived!
Tara's Talons is part of The TaraEmporium which is a lifestyle, beauty and fashion brand! Some new products have just been launched are nail art kits and jewellery and more new items will be added soon.
Tara has also just launched her online magazine The TaraEmporium edit which will feature lots of great products, tutorials, interviews and much more! You can find this at Tara's web site click HERE
Here is what Tara sent me
I received a mini (5ml) called Popping Candy semi-opaque glittery polish with pink speckles and a shimmery lilac haze.
A full size (10ml) called Night in Paris glitter topper, with blue and Gold glitter pieces and stars. along with some yummy Love heart sweets!
I decided to do 2 manicures one for each polish review.

Here is manicure 1.
List of items used for this manicure 1
- Rimmel polish in Silver Bullet.
- NYC polish in Lazy Sundae.
- NYC polish in Pinstripe White.
- Tara's Talons polish in Popping Candy.
- W7 polish in Baby Pink.
- Sally Hansen polish in Berry Juicy.
- nail art tape in gold.
I decided to do a base coat for this manicure with using a few different bases for different effects.
The thumb I used Rimmel.
First finger I used NYC in lazy sundae.
Middle finger I used NYC pinstripe white.
Ring finger I used W7 baby pink.
Little finger I used Sally Hansen.
Using the Tara's Talons Popping Candy I painted the thumb then across the middle finger then over the ring finger and then across half the little finger.
The middle and little finger I lined the polish with the nail art tape in Gold.
I really love the look of this polish reminds me of a cake topping so the name popping candy fits well!
I did not want to apply to many coats as it will thicken it up to much but you could wear this pretty polish alone or under your favorite polish.easy to apply and remove.this polish is a winner for me!
Next is manicure 2.
Items I used for manicure 2.
- NYC polish in Pinstripe White.
- Jess girl polish in All things girly.
- B&M Neon polish in Green.
- Tara's Talons polish in Night in Paris.
- Technic nail art pen in black.
- Sally Hansen Kwik dry clear polish.
- Make-up sponge.
- (nail file for color inspiration)
I used the NYC white polish as a base then once dry I used the Neon polish with the Jess girl polish by painting them on to a sponge and applying it to each nail I did this about 3 times.
I then applied the Kwik dry polish to blend the gradient well.
After the polishes dried I took my black nail art pen and did some fun zebra pattern across the nails and I then applied the Tara's Talon glitter topper in Night in Paris. The deep blue glitter of stars and shapes and Gold speckles colors really do pop and would look fantastic on any polish dark or light.
The glitter was chunky and applied well you could have as little as you wanted or tons with more coats. the polish was thick but not to thick you couldn't work with it I liked it very much.
I could not decided at first which polishes to use with this topper but I seen my file and thought hey oh I will do that! so I did this bright colorful mani I am glad I did as I think it looks funky and cool for Ibiza clubbing or something similar haha.
Well I hope you enjoyed my first indie polishes review!
